The Founder
Prakash Mohandas has had a penchant towards dancing from a very early age. His first theatrical performance was in India at the age of 10 in the musical version of the 1968 movie 'Chitti Chitti Bang Bang'. At the young age of 12 he extended his repertoire into another dance form by performing break dance for an AIDS awareness campaign. This was the start of numerous stage shows and performances in Bollywood dance, break dance, Indian folk dance and musical theater. He was part of a prize-winning college dance team with a variety of dance styles in their repertoire, focussing on Bollywood as their primary style. After moving to the US to pursue his Masters degree, he began performing with a UT Austin dance group, Idli Vada Sambhar, that created awareness about South Indian folk dance. Always open to learning new styles and applying his skills, Prakash is currently training in hip-hop.
His vision is to train all ages in different dance styles, predominantly of Asian Indian origin but not limited to music from a single region of the country. He aims to transform the conservative outlook of the South Asian community towards dance and its career prospects. His goals include contribution to charitable causes and to work with schools for the visually impaired to create a unique expression of dance
